Sources and fact-checking

The evidence standards for educational articles, product features, and calculator assumptions.

Check the original claim

Each article links to its source material. A citation should support the adjacent concept. Product features are checked against the provider’s documentation; marketing claims are not evidence of independent performance.

Numbers need context

Worked examples identify their assumptions. Rates used in calculators are illustrative inputs. Prices, product yields, contribution limits, and eligibility rules require dated verification before publication.

Two different checks

Automated checks can find broken links and calculation errors. They do not establish that prose is complete, appropriate, or accurate. Human review remains required.

Approval

Each published guide lists the sources you can check and a change note. The named author approves the final text. Guides still in progress are kept out of search-engine indexing until they are approved. If you spot an error, please tell us.
